Tove Jansson’s Resting after Work under conservation from 2 August to 20 September
Tove Jansson’s Resting after Work will be under conservation from 2 August to 20 September. During the years Resting after Work has gotten dirty and partly damaged. HAM’s conservator will be repairing the work during opening hours. The audience has the possibility to follow the conservation work and ask questions.
Tove Jansson received the first major commission of her career from the electromechanical company Oy Strömberg Ab in 1945. The director of the factory, a friend of the Jansson family, wanted a fresco for the factory’s canteen in Pitäjänmäki. Tove wanted to help workers relax and thus painted a moment of leisure.
The conservator is present from Tuesday to Friday from 11.30 am to 2 pm and from 2.30 pm to 4 pm.
The conservation process is supported by Moomin Characters Ltd.
