Helsinki Day at HAM
- 12.6. 11.30-19.00
Those visiting HAM Helsinki Art Museum on Helsinki Day, 12 June, from 13:00 to 16:30 can look forward to enjoying the sounds of a walking double bass and experiencing dancing tours!
The Dance! – Movement in the Visual Arts 1880–2020 exhibition will be serving as the stage for musician Ahti Lassila’s Walking Bass tour, in addition to which our guide will be interpreting the works of the exhibition through motion. The conversational tour provides interesting additional information about the interpreted works and themes.
“Since 2015, I have been organising Walking Bass tours especially in art museums, making comprehensive use of the exhibition spaces. For the arched halls of HAM, I have planned themes suitable for the Dance! exhibition that I develop as I stop to play at different spots in the exhibition space. The works, the space and the soundscape of the acoustic double bass provide a new kind of art experience for visitors.” – Ahti Lassila
