Jenni Rahkonen: A Rat’s Happiness Jenni Rahkonen’s exhibition at HAM Gallery will feature objects made of various materials, for example, wood and silicone, as well as graphic prints on handmade paper. Start date17.05.2025End date06.07.2025 Photo from the artist’s studio. photo: Jenni Rahkonen. The pieces are made of materials salvaged and collected over a long stretch of time, often offering ideas that can either be explored or become the butt of jokes. Much of the artist’s work entails experimenting and mapping out opportunities. The act of making is self-perpetuating, forming a movement, sometimes limping along, sometimes soaring high. Rahkonen’s work, which started from an inkling, is closely tied to observing the nature of the space and materials. Memories of bodily sensations help to empathise with emerging phenomena and to define what to focus on. The aim is to move in a terrain that is only just forming, to create space for the undefined, to look closely, to use the senses to become one with the world. Jenni Rahkonen is a Helsinki-based artist. She graduated from the University of the Arts Helsinki’s Academy of Fine Arts with an MA in Fine Arts in 2021. Rahkonen’s works have been on display at venues including Sinne (2023) and Galleria Huuto (2021) in Helsinki. jennirahkonen.weebly.com The exhibition will be opened on Friday, May 16, 2025 at 5–7PM.
