Haegue Yang: Continuous Reenactments (available 24.11.2023-7.4.2024)

On this tour, we will discover Haegue Yang’s multisensory and multifaceted works. The exhibition’s installations and sculptures combine industrially produced materials and craft-based methods drawn from various folk traditions. Daily life, spirituality, and history appear side by side in this atmospheric exhibition.

The Girl Who Turned into a Rosebush (available 9.2. – 29.9.2024)

The Girl Who Turned into a Rosebush reflects on the practices of expressing and seeing. On the guided tour, we will explore the City of Helsinki’s art collection through six themes. By closely observing the artworks, attention is drawn to details that usually seem irrelevant. The exhibition features old and new works from the collection, executed with various media. Through dialogue and juxtaposition, they provide opportunities for new interpretations.

On this tour, we will discover Tove Jansson’s party-themed frescos and the mural Play she implemented at the Aurora Children’s Hospital. Tove Jansson was a multitalented artist who is best known as the creator of the Moomins. Her public artworks provide new perspectives on the beloved artist.
