Guided tours and workshops for groups

Book a guided tour

Deepen your art experience with a guided tour! Why not book a guided tour of HAM’s current exhibitions? Our guided tours can also be tailored to suit your group. Tell us what you want to see.

The Girl Who Turned into a Rosebush (available 9.2. – 29.9.2024)

The Girl Who Turned into a Rosebush reflects on the practices of expressing and seeing. On the guided tour, we will explore the City of Helsinki’s art collection through six themes. By closely observing the artworks, attention is drawn to details that usually seem irrelevant. The exhibition features old and new works from the collection, executed with various media. Through dialogue and juxtaposition, they provide opportunities for new interpretations.

Who Is an Animal? (available 17.5. – 18.8.2024)

The exhibition looks at the various ways of depicting animals, and the different roles they are assigned in art. On this tour, we will explore artworks in the exhibition, which is primarily based on HAM’s art collection. The works draw attention to how artists strive even more to break the power structure between humans and other animals, and make visible what unites us.

Tove Jansson: Party and Play (available until 29.9.2024)

On this tour, we will discover Tove Jansson’s party-themed frescos and the mural Play she implemented at the Aurora Children’s Hospital. Tove Jansson was a multitalented artist who is best known as the creator of the Moomins. Her public artworks provide new perspectives on the beloved artist.
