In addition to the visual design, the exhibition highlights the use of green-screen technology in the production of the film. The show also includes documentaries about the making of Iron Sky, as well as the makers’ earlier Star Wreck movies, which became cult films in their own right.

Iron Sky is the most expensive production in the history of Finnish cinema. The film tells how Nazis, who fled to the dark side of the Moon in 1945, return to Earth in 2018 to conquer the world. Directed by Timo Vuorensola, the film won the Silver Melies award and the Audience Award at the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival.

The exhibition is produced by the Helsinki Art Museum in collaboration with Blind Spot Pictures. The main sponsor of the exhibition is HOK-Elanto.
