Jussi Kivi: DEEP DOWN UNDER Jussi Kivi’s (b. 1959) photographs and drawings are the result of urban exploration in underground tunnels, urban wastelands and industrial zones, the places most people do not even notice. The exhibition consists mainly of Kivi’s works from recent years, some of which are on display for the first time. Start date26.01.2018End date29.07.2018 Jussi Kivi: Unexpected stratospheric phenomenon over liquid fuel tank ruins (22° halo) Kivi’s images invite us to consider how our perception of the world is affected by our ideas, be they about beauty, politics or our conception of humanity’s place in nature. In spite of their philosophical underpinnings, Kivi’s works are inspired by personal experiences during his explorations and efforts to share those experiences. “Art must always involve a measure of the miraculous,” says Kivi.
