Sini Pelkki: Sheet No4 Sheet No4 is an experimental moving image work that uses repetition and reinterpretation to both construct and deconstruct the image and its boundaries. For Pelkki, the framing and outlines of the photographic image also signify a skin, the outlines of the human being and the threshold between the exterior and the interior. Start date18.01.2018End date25.02.2018 sini pelkki: still image from sheet no4, 2018 (detail). The title of the exhibition is an allusion to a contact sheet which contains all the frames of a roll of a film and is used to sketch out choices and make notes. One of the starting points of the work is a dialogue between Pelkki and various artists and the interaction and diverse interpretations embodied in those exchanges. The contributions come from multidisciplinary artists Emma Hammarén, Johan Jonason, Magnús Logi Kristinsson and Keiko Yamamoto, as well as cinematographer Pietari Peltola and sound designer Anne Tolkkinen. The exhibition consists of an installation, containing moving image and photographs, which spans the two spaces of the HAM Gallery. Sini Pelkki is a visual artist born in Helsinki in 1978.
