The Making of Iron Sky The Making of Iron Sky tells about the visual design and collective production process of the internationally acclaimed film Iron Sky. The exhibition features a wealth of material from the making of the movie, including production sketches, digital matte paintings, costumes and reconstructed sets. Also included is the film’s entire original storyboard. Hundreds of thousands of fans across the world contributed to the production. The exhibition demonstrates how many seemingly insurmountable problems were resolved by the participation of the online community. Photo: HAM In addition to the visual design, the exhibition highlights the use of green-screen technology in the production of the film. The show also includes documentaries about the making of Iron Sky, as well as the makers’ earlier Star Wreck movies, which became cult films in their own right. Iron Sky is the most expensive production in the history of Finnish cinema. The film tells how Nazis, who fled to the dark side of the Moon in 1945, return to Earth in 2018 to conquer the world. Directed by Timo Vuorensola, the film won the Silver Melies award and the Audience Award at the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival.
