Ai Weiwei: Lego Collection Point


Ai Weiwei’s project in defence of freedom of speech and political art has now extended to Helsinki. A 1992 BMW 5 Sedan has been parked at the HAM Corner, where it serves as a container where anyone can donate their used Lego bricks.

The 100 years of Taidesalonki exhibition celebrates the centenary of Finland’s oldest art gallery that is still in operation, Taidesalonki that was established by Leonard Bäcksbacka.

HAM will be exhibiting the works of one of the world’s most influential artists, Chinese artist Ai Weiwei. The works of art will be exhibited for the first time in Finland and two of the pieces will have their world premiere.

A florist shop thought up by artist Ilona Valkonen called Vieno Motors adorns citizens with provocative and sensual flower accessories and creating flower arrangements. In addition to this, the shop will serve as a place to relax and experience nature on the micro scale.
