Musta graniittt / Black granite art work

Artist Chiaki Kobinata

Toini Muonan katu 3, Helsinki

The Japanese sculptress, Chiaki Kobinata, studied at the University of Art & Design, Helsinki. The artist made stone sculptures which emulate the Finnish landscape. The one shown has placed in the new residential area of Arabianranta. The shiny and smooth black granite sculpture provides a contrast to the matt, lightly-toned slabs of the yard path – a contrast which is reminiscent of Japanese gardens.

The work doesn’t belong to the collections of the Helsinki Art Museum.
