Situated infront of Pihlajamäki shopping centre is a bronze scale model. Attached to the concrete wall which is ca. 2 metres high is a metal plate which tells about the history of the area.

The text reads:
PIHLAJAMÄKI SCALE MODEL
NEAR TO PIHLJAMÄKI IS AN IMPORTANT PLACE IN THE HISTORY OF MODERN ARCHITECTURE IN OUR COUNTRY THE PIHLAJAMÄKI TOWN PLAN WAS DRAWN UP BY ARCHITECT OLLI KIVINEN IN THE YEAR 1960.
PIHLAJAMÄKI’S SATO-COMPANY AND BUILDING BOARD HAKA BUILT DURING THE YEARS 1961-1965
THE BRONZE SCALE MODEL IS BASED ON THE SCALE MODEL BUILT BY THE LIONS CLUB OF PIHLAJAMÄKI FROM THE 1960s. IT REFLECTS THE AREA OF PIHLAJAMÄKI IN THE YEAR 2000.
THE SCALE MODEL WAS ERECTED IN THE YEAR 2002 IN COOPERATION WITH HELSINKI CITY AND THE SATO-COMPANY.

The work doesn’t belong to the collections of the Helsinki Art Museum.
