Artist Raimo Utriainen

, Helsinki

Raimo Utriainen tends to use metal in his works, forming it into slats which then create the plastic entity. The slats form planes which combine and stimulate the viewer’s senses and create a sense of movement. Utriainen has said that he derives his inspiration from basic sentiments transmitted by the surroundings, such as the quietness of nature, city noise, the pure and plastic shape of stones smoothened by water, and the solitude of deserts. These sentiments work in Utriainen’s subconscious and from there influence his work. The work is made from aluminium.

The work doesn’t belong to the collections of the Helsinki Art Museum.
