Art workshop with Tiina Pyykkinen: Light and colour

At this art workshop we will explore observation and light. Participants will create their own piece using just one pigment and by delving deep into the pieces we will explore how light, colour and binding media affect our observations. The aim of the workshop is to give participants a greater understanding of how the properties of different materials and light come together to influence our perception of visual information.

Visual Artist Tiina Pyykkinen explores light and its reflections in her art. She is particularly interested in the refraction of light and the kinds of illusions matte and gloss paints can create when combined. When the viewer changes their viewing angle, a painting’s whole look can change too.
