Timo Heino
Timo Heino combines objects and materials in surprising ways, creating highly charged works that are endowed with an almost creature-like presence. Heino’s art excites the senses. It draws its strength from the multiple meanings of the materials and the immediate sensations awakened by rubber, metal and dust or smoothness, coldness and hairiness.

Faced with Timo Heino’s (b. 1962) works, our mind too is activated. His works raise questions and offer insights into education, power, sexuality, consumerism, dependencies, the relationship between humanity and nature.
The exhibition consists of Heino’s installations and material collages from 1990 to the present. It builds up into a layered whole in which the repeating shapes and themes of individual works evolve and repeat to create a complex of criss-crossing meanings.

The exhibition is curated by Timo Heino together with curator Mikko Oranen.
The exhibition is generously supported by FRAME, Kone Foundation, Oskar Öflunds Stiftelse and the Finnish Cultural Foundation.
