The childlike figures are part of a work called Metamorphosis. They seem to be entering the space and then leaving it through the walls. A fourth figure is just entering the space; we can see a hand emerging from the wall, while a fifth is leaving, with only its feet visible. The figures have the bodies of children with the arms and hands of adults. They seem to be using the arms as wings to fly. Meskanen-Barman wanted to depict the development of children through puberty and into adulthood. The work was produced under the Percent for Art programme, and it belongs to the collection of the City of Helsinki, managed by HAM Helsinki Art Museum. At map
