With their varying shapes, the sculptures create an intriguing installation. Voijola made the shapes from red clay, adjusting their hues with an iron oxide glaze by controlling the firing temperature. The diameter of the components is about 40 centimetres. The shapes are inspired by the depths of the sea and their positioning by the constellations. Voijola has shaped the sculptural pieces to resemble primitive unicellular microorganisms. The positioning of the suspension points on the ceiling create a stellar constellation all its own. Six of the sculptures are positioned on three elliptical intersecting orbits that share a focal point, thus creating an impression of a magnetic force of attraction that makes the objects move in space. The seventh component is located outside the regularly positioned group. The work was produced under the Percent for Art programme, and it belongs to the collection of the City of Helsinki, managed by HAM Helsinki Art Museum. At map
