The site was an important factor in the design and final form of the work: the artist sought to introduce an element of nature into the building, which is surrounded by trees, thereby establishing a link between the daycare centre and its environment. The work consists of around 130 mushrooms made of clay, and they are installed in a random pattern, just as if they were growing on tree trunks in the forest. The mushrooms, rendered in a wide spectrum of greys, are made of white clay and glazed with black engobe. Small mirror fragments mounted above the mushrooms create a play of light on the walls. On overcast days and in the dark hours, the work is lit. The work was produced under the Percent for Art programme, and it belongs to the collection of the City of Helsinki, managed by HAM Helsinki Art Museum. At map
