You may not use this photo for commercial purposes. © Photo: Helsinki Art Museum Tiedonpuu / Tree of Knowledge Artist Iris Hälli Punavuorenkatu 6-10, Helsinki At the beginning of the 1990s, the Snellman Primary School parents association commissioned a stone work from artist Iris Hälli. The surroundings of the school’s geology yard became the main inspiration for artist’s ideas for the “Tree of Knowledge”. The granite slab stands on the edge of Punavuorenkatu 8-10 infront of the school building and is part of the school’s geology yard. Coloured tiles create a path – the flow of information – which leads from the school’s geology yard to the “Tree of Knowledge” on Punavuorenkatu. The primary school pupils worked together with the artist and took part in the collection of the small stones and final preparations of the work.
