Tea Mäkipää Bubble Tea Mäkipää Aurinkolahden peruskoulun sivukoulu Auringonpilkku, Villiruusunkuja 4, 00990 Helsinki Indoor Sculpture Bubble by Tea Mäkipää (b. 1973, Lahti) hangs from the stairwell ceiling in Aurinkolahti Primary School’s sideschool Auringonpilkku. Taking her cue from the school’s focus on technical subjects, the artist has sought to give a visual form to physical phenomena. The theme of the installation is the three phases of matter – solid, liquid and gas – which Mäkipää’s sculpture explores abstractly. Bubble is made of painted plaster. The work was produced under the Percent for Art programme, and it belongs to the collection of the City of Helsinki, managed by HAM Helsinki Art Museum. The work originally included a second part, Crystal, but it suffered damage and is been removed permanently. It was a sculpture made of steel and coloured acrylic, and it hung in the same stairwell with Bubble. At map
