The sculptor has taken maritime environment as an ground point and created a visual “sound” that relates to the buildings, the triangular-shaped yard and the street. The kayak refers to an ancient way of travelling on the sea which now has a very modern form. Timo Heino is a well known finnish sculptor and his works are in many prominent museums in Finland and abroad. The work was unveiled 21.5.2014. The work was produced under the Percent for Art programme, and it belongs to the Collection of the City of Helsinki, managed by HAM Helsinki Art Museum. Read more.. At map
